I recently upgraded my PC with larger Hard Disk, new Motherboard and a
faster Processor.
I was advised by the shop who carried out this work that my Windows XP had
to be reinstalled.
When the PC was returned I just happened to notice that the Product ID for
my Windows has changed on the last three digits.
The mechanic who carried out the reinstallation of Windows informed me that
every time Windows is reinstalled the Product ID will change.
I do not doubt his statement, but would like a confirmation from MS-MVP that
this is correct and that I will not experience any problems with Microsoft
Updates, SP 2 (when it becoms available)Technical Assistance etc.
Thank you in anticipation
