Attempt to upgrade from Win98SE to WinXP

Last week I tried to upgrade Win98SE to WinXP. During
the process, the upgrade failed citing an error with a
winman file => so still running Win98SE. Now every time I
shut down, the "End Task ..." window comes up but does
not display what task won't close. If I Alt-Crt-Del while
Win98SE is functioning, it shows that "wnscpcc" is not
responding. Any help on how to fix this error is
appreciated.
