With Outlook Express open, go to Tools>Options>Security and uncheck 'Do not allow attachments to be saved...'. Restart Outlook Express. If you do uncheck this option, please make sure that you virus all attachments that you receive before opening them.
I have done what you said in your email, I can open
those. It is the file attachments that I can not open,
it tells me that FILE FORMAT IS NOT VALID.
I can not open any slide shows either.

The attachment extensions tell you basically what type of program you need
to read them. You can search the net by typing in the extension and search.
You can try here: http://www.filext.com/detaillist.php?extdetail=psf , then
type in the ext., to find the program.I hope this helps.
