You cannot do this. These are 2 completely different file types.

You would need to copy all of the text in the XLS document and then paste it
into an application that is capable of saving it in the PDF format.

How do i change an attachment code from xls to PDF

Simply changing the file's extension from xls to pdf would accomplish
nothing, except making the file unreadable. What you need to do is
convert the file from xls format to pdf format. You need an
appropriate program to do that, such as Adobe Acrobat. Microsoft
Office 2007 can also do it, it you install the correct free add-in
from Microsoft.
