Attachments won't open

How do you get attachments to open in XP? I get
attachments from a friend throug Yahoo mail, but they

If you're using Outlook Express: Tools|Options - Security tab. Un-check "Do
not allow attachments to be saved or opened..."

Please help us to help you. What kind of attachments are they
(what's their extension)? What happens when you try to open them?
