attachments will not open

My attachments will not open anymore.....what do I do to fix this problem?
 
What happens when you try?

Will they open if you save them to your HDD first?
 
It depends. You will need to post the exact error message you get.
Also let us know which type of attachment, DOC, PDF, PPS, etc.?
