When I send an email with a picture jpeg attachment to
my father who has outlook express he gets the picture
automatically without having to click the papaer clip and
does not have to download the picture it appears in the
email itself but in super large size. Why is it coming
up without clicking the paper clip and why is it so large
that he cannot view the whole picture.

Outlook Express allows you to preview the attachment in the lower window.

Tell him to double click the email message from the top window and it'll pop
open.

Then tell him to double click the attachment, and the jpeg will open with
whatever image viewer you have assigned to jpegs.

Good luck

A friend of mine had the same problem not being able to view the whole
picture. This may seem silly, but she has a small monitor and it was just
because she wasn't using the scroll bar to view the whole picture. She
couldn't view the whole picture at once but at least she got to see what was
in the picutre.

Using the default image viewer on the computer is the best solution.

mark, were you ever able to resolve this issue? If not, try this
IN your letter, you said you send PICTURE files in your emails as attachments
If this is the case, all files selected as PICTURE attachments in the drop-down list WILL show up as photoS in the email BODY!
There is another option when you are attaching a photo in an email. Instead of selecting PICTURE from the drop-down list, select FILE, and navigate to where the picture is on your computer. When you find it, click it and it will then be attached as a file, and your dad will never receive photos in the email body that are enormous again! Instead, he will just click on the small attachment icon in the ATTACHMENT field ( where you wanted it to go inthe first place..), and his default image viewer will open up the photo in a normal size that fits his monitor.
let me know how it goes! :-
