Attachments: Outlook Express

I have a friend in Mexico that is trying to send me
pictures with an attachment to the email. Every time I
try to open the attachment it automatically goes to
notepad and I can't get the attachment open. Is there
something I am doing wrong? Thanks

Hi Robert,

It sounds as though it is an unrecognized extension. Notepad is the
default.

Robert,

The "txt" extension is for text files. Is your friend changing the extension
when sending the files? The extension for pic's should be "jpg" or "jpeg" or
"jfif" etc. You may want to check with your friend about what program
created the images and post back to in this newsgroup to get a better answer
regarding the file type necessary to view the images.
