Hi everyone,

I use outlook 2003 and many times (not everytime) when I attach a siple word file or a pdf file the receiver only gets a .dat file they cannot open

What can be the problem?

Any help or comments would be appreciated.

Send using Plain Text or HTML - using Outlook Rich Text format will always
generate a winmail.dat file for non-Outlook users.

Post all replies to the group to keep the discussion intact. Due to
the (insert latest virus name here) virus, all mail sent to my personal
account will be deleted without reading.

After searching google.groups.com and finding no answer, krb asked:

Try using Plain Text format to send your attachment.

To change the format of your email:
Open TOOLS | OPTIONS... | MAIL FORMAT
