How do I view an image, such as a jpeg or gif, not as an a attachment?

You can't. And please pick just one or two groups to post to. There's no
need to post to every Outlook group on the news server.

How do I view an image, such as a jpeg or gif, not as an a attachment?

If you want to include the picture in your message as a picture, not
just as an attached file, you will need to change your email format from
Plain Text to HTML. Once you do, you can then click the Insert menu,
select Picture, then From File and choose the picture you want to
insert. It will appear where your cursor is in the message you're
editing.
