I have Outlook 2007
I am told by those recieving e-mails from me that they can not open
attacments \I send

Any suggestions?

first off, which is it, are they receiving them and cannot open them, or are
they not receiving them? The most common cause of them not receiving them at
all is they are being removed by an anti-virus program.

"Can't open" and "not received" are completely different. You say the
latter in your subject. Which is it? What type of attachments? One thing
that comes to mind is that if you're sending Office 2007 documents to people
who don't have Office 2007, it's fairly understandable because the default
format Office 2007 uses can't be read by earlier versions of Office without
an add-in.

I am mostly told that there is no attachment to click on. You mentioned an
add-in. Could you tell me more about the add-in

You write that there is no attachment received, in which case the add-in
won't help.

Most likely your outgoing mail server, or the recipient's incoming mail
server strips the attachment. If some of your recipients do receive the
attachment, then it's not your outgoing server. If none of them receives
the attachment, then I would check with your mail administrator.

I am having the same problem sending attachments from 2007 to people with
earlier versions of Outlook. The recipients can't see an attachment. Is it
their anti virus programme or the fact that I've got Office 2007? What's the
add-in you refer to?

Can't see or can't open? If "can't open", direct them to the Office 2007
compatibility pack on Microsoft's Office web site. Alternatively, you
should consider configuring your Office products to use the Office 2003
formats by default.

Hi Brian

They can't SEE the attachments so as far as they are concerned I haven't
sent attachments. This happens if I send a fresh email to them from my
address book. However, if I reply to an email they sent me, and then attach,
they can see it. I always save my documents in the compatability mode
(2003-97) to make sure people with earlier vesions can open them.

Are these external or internal recipients? Open the contact record of one
of these people and double-click the email address. Is the dialogue that
opens called "E-mail Properties" and, if so, is there an "Internet format"
drop-down at the bottom? What does that drop-down contain?

I am having the same issue. New computer with Office 2007. SOME people get
my attachments, some people get the email - but no attachment. SEEMS like
the ones that get it also have 2007, not positive.

I changed my antivirus software brand, so that doesn't seem to be the issue.
It's only happened since I got the new computer with Office 2007 (had '97
before).

I've read thru this list, but haven't seen an answer for it. Please help -
I'm so aggravated!
