Attachement field in linked tables

This isn't really a question, only an observation. I have been using the new
attachment field in Access 2007 with much success, but I noticed some strange
behavior when I tried to replace an ole object holding a small picture of a
student with an attacment field for the same purpose. When I create a table
with an attachment field in my backend database and then link to it in my
front end database, everything work swimmingly. Howerver, if I add an
attachment field to a table in the backend that is already linked to the
front end, the field name shows up in the front end, and can be added to
forms, reports and such, but doesn't seem to work at all. I was able to fix
this by deleting the table in the front end and then reconnecting it (as I am
writing this I realize that i may have just had to refresh the link in the
linked table manager). Has anyone else experienced this odd behavior?

Normally, if you add, say, a text field to your back end table, you can
access it via the linked table in the front end immediately. You don't have
to delete and recreate the link. I just thought it odd that you have to do
that in order to use an attachment field.
