Attached messages get overwritten

An email has three attachments. One of those attachments gets over written
with the content of one of the other two emails. The attachments are
inserted using INSERT - FILE. The attachments are opened and closed prior to
attaching to ensure they are correct.
 
Did you ever find a fix for this? We are having the same issue when we cut
and paste attachments from one email message to another.
 
Not really, we ended up resaving the document and attaching it - this time it
worked.
