Yes, it's only an ad for Open Office, not a download. It's also present inToolbox (which has been there for several of the past updates as well) but
just saw an "ad" for Open Office. There was no check box to uncheck. I see
no Open Office installed on either PC after doing the java update.

I got the Open Office on one computer and the Yahoo tool bar on another.

And for curiosity's sake, just what is so wrong about Open Office?
There are none installed locally in this area but would be nice to
know of some personal experices, vis-a-vis Windows XP. TIA.

I know of nothing wrong with OO. But when you get a popup telling you
of an update to your Java installation, you expect to update your Java
software, not install a bunch of totally unrelated stuff.
And from what we've heard here, it wasn't just OO. They wanted to
install Yahoo toolbar on my machine, somebody else reported Google
toolbar.
