ATI Video Cards: Designed by engineers, Tech support provided by trained monkeys

ATI drivers have gone to sh1t since 7.x

I have an X800 XL, i bought it brand new a lil over 2 years ago for
about $500

ATI hardware is great, but what good is hardware if the software isn't
worth the diskspace it occupies?

Like many afore mentioned posts; since the 7.7 upgrade im getting the
ati2mtag error as well, and the occasional (almost daily) system
freeze up for no reason. no dump files to analyze, no blue screen of
death to take note of, nothing. just POOF the screen freezes and the
system is locked.

Don't say XYZ about my PC or what to do, i've been a network admin for
9 years now (and have the formal education and degrees/certifications
to prove my knowledge of I.T.)

I've submitted numerous bug reports using the Catalyst Crew Feedback
form... I've yet to hear a response.

I've even done the whole "contact tech support" ordeal via web and
phone...

ATI products may be designed by engineers, but tech support is
provided by trained monkeys who's only solution is 1 of 4 things;
Uninstall & reinstall the drivers till you go blind. Blame the problem
on a different piece of hardware. Revert back to an older driver that
has it's own set of problems but not the problem you are currently
experiencing. Format & reinstall your operating system.

I wish nVidia made a chipset AND a video card....
