ATI Radeon Video Card

I have two (probably stupid) questions. I have been practicing and practicing and practicing on a test web site so that I can get a feel for FP2003. I am a newbie! The one thing that I have been doing a lot of is switching back and forth from design view to preview view. Is is possible that
1. This could have made my video card crap out (because it did)
2. By having more than one website on my computer that it would slow it down?
Both of these could just be a coincidence but they have both occurred since using FP2003.
My Windows XP system consists of a 2.6 GHz processor w/ 865G motherboard, 512MB 333MHz DDR SDRAM, 128MB ATI Radeon 9600G, 120GB hard drive.

No to both, but you might want to check for an updated driver for your ATI
video card.

But I'll tell ya this...I bought a 9600 Radeon two months ago and it solved ALL my crashing problems I was having with Photoshop :-)

I bought a pocket PC the other day. has a phone built in. I haven't had a
cell phone in years. pocket pc is a cool device when I wrap up some of my
current things I'm going to look into them from a design, content point of
view. hell of a deal for $135.

I have an old hp Jornada, can't live with out it...I have at least a thousand client contacts in it...very handy. If I had one with a fone...I'd go nutso.

they've been around for quite a while, they used to hawk software then got into hardware...good deals. they started with a image editor suite that was not bad but went nowhere...a copy is in El Robo's Software Museum :-)

To install your new video card.
1. With the computer on, open Device Manager, click the plus by Display
Adapter, click once on the entry that shows and then click Remove. Click Ok
when Prompted.

2. *****shut down the computer******

3. Open the case and physically remove the old card and insert the new one in
the same slot. You will probably need a Phillips screwdriver. ( be careful and
do not drop the screwdriver on the mother board. )

4. Restart the computer and windows will detect and install the new card. It
"might" ask for the driver disk that came with the card.

If it's just a replacement of the same model, you can skip #1 of Steve's instructions.

Correct.
However doing so accomplishes 3 things.
1. If part of the problem is a corrupt driver file path in the registry,
removing it from device manager clears the registry entries
and forces windows to recreate them as part of the install.

2. It forces windows to query the chipset as part of the plug and play
detection. This ensures that the proper make and model number are written
to the ENUM section of HKEY_LOCAL_Machine and then this info is used to
search the inf file for the location of the proper drivers.

3. It forces the video card to install with it's default settings, instead
of possibly using the settings that may have been modified by the user and
which may be incorrect.

;-)

WP, It's just one of those things I've learned the hard way.
( actually it should be removed from device manager in safe mode )

Thanks so much for all of the replies. I hope once the card arrives, this will all become perfectly clear and will fix the problem. However, I must say even though I am somewhat at ease now I still have to wonder why this happened. My computer is only 7 months old. By any chance could it be something else other than the video card? I guess I am afraid that once I go through this whole procedure I still might have the problem I am experiencing, which is my text is "fuzzy." Are there telltale signs other than "fuzziness" that my video card is going bad? I know this is a FP NG; however, you folks are not only adept at FP but obviously all aspects of computers. I guess it was as you said just a coincidence that I was using FP quite a bit when this happened
