Hey folks,
I successfully got MCE2005 on an ASUS P4R800-VM, which has an onboard
ATI 9100 IGP chip. Here's the strange part. If I install the drivers that
came with the board (old and don't forget their version), playback of video
of any kind within MCE doesn't work...yes the DVD decoder was installed.
Now, if I install the latest Omega drivers, everything works really great
and as expected...except suspend...get a BSOD on that attempt. If I install
the latest ATI Catalyst drivers, suspend works as expected, but I get a
black screen when I try to fire up MCE. I can however, still use remote
desktop and can plainly see the UI that way. Any ideas on all this? It's
almost as if there are some strange overlay issues and I can seem to resolve
it.
Should it help, I have nothing but a TV attached via S-video cables to
the onboard connector. No VGA monitor because this is a dedicated media
machine.
