ATI All-in-wonder ..2 TV Cards

Tom

Hi,

I have an ATI All-in-Wonder 9700 Pro AGP installed in my computer.

I also have some older ATI All-in-wonder/ATI TV cards(PCI).
I understand that if one has a second ATI TV card in addition to the ATI
All-in-wonder, one would be able to watch TV within TV. And to record off
one TV while watching off another TV.

My question is.... Do I simply insert the old ATI TV or ATI All-in-wonder
card into a free PCI Slot and that is all that is needed?

Thanks in advamnce for your replies.

An Interesting experiment Though I doubt you will get PIP with that
combination.
the tv wonder and the AIW cards uses different drivers and software
even if they look the same while viewing them.
you will need to split the input cable to run it to both also the
audio cable will have to be split.
you might want to back up your registry and image or back up your hard
drive before trying it.
Just in case the two softwares and drivers are not compatible and
crashes your system.

Media Center 8.5 is documented to support PIP with an All-In-Wonder and
a recent TV Wonder.

I stand corrected it does say that.
though I haven't seen any messages as to whether it worked or not.

Nto sure if this helpful, but I can tell you both myself and another have
tried dual display with a PCi version AIW Pro & GF2MX400's Seems the AIW
grabs the primary role and will not allow the OS, win98SE to dual display. I
don't think the drivers are written to allow dual display IMHO.

Might want to read that a little closer. 8>)woops)

"Media Center 8.5 is documented to support PIP with an All-In-Wonder

Don't know whether you're agreeing with me or disagreeing. Multiview
was a new feature in 8.1, and is described in the FAQ.

From <http://www.ati.com/products/faqs/mmcfaq81.html#6>,

"Support for MULTVIEW when combined with an ATI TV WONDER PCI card
Picture-in-Picture (PiP)
Picture-outside-Picture (PoP)

Record one while viewing another

Watch while channel surfing."

So it's pretty clear that it supports PIP using the combination of an
All-In-Wonder and a TV Wonder.
