ATI AIW 9600

Just looking for ideas.

I just had a new computer put together and had a ATI AIW 9600 put in.
The tech installed the card and installed the VGA adapter and it was
sitting on the counter in the Burbank PC Club, a large chain of
computer stores for 30 minues with customers around.

I took the computer home and noticed the adapter was loose and tried
to screw in back in but notice it was actually broken off. Went right
back to the store and the tech tried to fix it When he couldn't I
asked for a replacement card. They told me that sorry since I didn't
notice that the adapter was broken until I left the store they
couldn't do anything and even if they did, ATI wouldn't replace it for
them.

I got an inexpensive card just to get the computer running.

Later I also talked to a regional manager who said the same thing.

I did contact ATI and filled out one of the warrent forms and waiting
to hear from them, someone told me 10 days and ordered another
adapter ($25).
All I need in the card itself are the two little nuts that the adapter
screws into (the old ones have the broken screws inside of them).

Called ATI and tried to talk to someone about just getting the nuts
but they transfer me to a number that never answers.

If you paid by credit card, tell the credit card company not to pay PC Club.
You will then have some negotiating power to get it fixed or return it.
