Hi
I am shortly taking delivery of an empty Athlon 64 bit machine. I expect to
begin with dual booting XP32bit and 64 bit versions
So that I can get started is there anything special I have to do about
loading 32 bit XPPro or does it just install as normal

Install is normal. I'd suggest XP 32 on our main partition and create a
second partition for XP64. Dual boot and use XP64 as much as possible and
wait for updated drivers, programs, etc.

My plan is to try and use XP64 as much as possible and eventually switch
over full time.

Have fun!

Roger,
It is a normal installation. However, if your motherboard has Via and/or
Promise SATA and RAID, you need to use the drivers diskettes at the
beginning of the install.
For a dual boot config, XP32 must be installed before XP64, otherwise XP64
will not boot.
Cheers, Fr.

Hi, dual booting systems require the oldest OS to be loaded first in this
order win98, windows 2000, windows me, windows xp 32 bit, windows xp 64 bit.
Yes win me came out after windows 2000.... been there done it.
