Asus PATA-to-SATA dongle - any good ?

Hi folks,

I´d like to attach my two 120 GB Hitachi drives (Deskstar 180 GXP) to the
ICH5R´s SATA-ports to be able to run a RAID 0 array without putting much
load on the PCI-bus.
To do so I´d like to use PATA-to-SATA dongles.
Asus offers these babies, but I read for more than one time that they are
bad performers as far as writing is concerned.
Do you have any experiences in so far ?
Or an idea which dongle is the best suitable (Abit offers them too...) ??

Hi
I bought one last week from an unknown brand and i have strange problems
with it: the disk is recognised and works for a while but after 4-5 files
transfered on it windows freezes.
Don't have solved the problem yet
