Asus P5AD2-E Premium

Since a few days I have a new system, with a P5AD2-E Premium as mobo. My
dealer should install this system as a RAID 0, but this don't work att all.
So I decided to format the disks and install the system without RAID 0.

But after manny hours off trying to install WindowsXP SP2 on this system,
I'm os far as in the beginning. My system won't boot from a harddisk and
every time after a boot, he will try to install XP again and again and ...

So, please if anyone can help me!!!

My system:

Asus P5AD2-E Premium
2 WD Raptor HD's SATA now on SATA_RAID 0
2 Maxtor HD's SATA now on SATA 1 and 2
1 Nec DVD Writer as primary master
2Gb Dual Channel memory

Questions and ...all this not for a RAID configuration

When I wil run all those 4 HD's, how do I need to connect them on that mobo?

Do I need drivers from the Asus CD to install these HD's as an non-RAID
system and before WIndowsXP is installed? And when I need a driver, which
one should I install?

What must be the boot priority in the BIOS?

Nec DVD writer as Master or as Slave?

Onboard Serial ATA BOOTROM ...Disabled or Enabled?

ITE8212F controller IDE Mode or Disabled?

Sillicon Image Controller SATA Mode or Disabled?

Which controllers do I need under WindowsXP for these HD's?

Under the option "IDE Configuration" Configure SATA As "Standard IDE" or as
"RAID"?

My 2 WD Raptor HD's I want them as C and D drive and WindowsXP on the C and
the 2 Maxtor's as E and F drive.

SO, please can annyone help me?? This drives me realy realy crazy!!!!!!!

Are you aware that to install XP on the RAID you need the drivers on a
floppy. Then at the right time during the XP install you hit F6 (if I
remember correctly) to load the RAID drivers from that floppy. The Mobo CD
has the drivers on it. Failure to do this will make it impossible to install
XP on the RAID.

You are correct Barry, RAID and/or SATA drivers will need to be loaded via
floppy or a modified Windows XP Boot CD before you are able to install
windows. Have you floppy ready with the RAID driver on it, keep your eye on
the windows installations screens, way down in the bottom left corner you
will see a prompt to hit F6 to install third party RAID or SATA drivers. All
this is done when your system is reading the setup files from the XP install
CD.
