I have a Plextor 716SA on the nVidia SATA controllers and it works fine.
You may have a problem while installing the nVidia IDE drivers. I suggest
not installing it first and then after you install Windows and SP2 go ahead
and install the IDE drivers manually.

Ahhhh . . . great news, but I'm not sure what you meant by having
trouble installing the nVidia IDE drivers. Did you mean that you
think the 716SA might cause that trouble? Did you install the nVidia
drivers before you installed the 716SA? I guess what I'm asking for
is an explanation of what trouble you encountered and how it was
relevant to the SATA optical drive.

(I have the nVidia dIDE drivers installed, and they're working
perfectly.)
