Assigning tasks

If the person I assign a task to accepts the task and then later re-assigns
it to someone else, I no longer receive updates and reports. Why not?

Because he's the owner of the task once he reassigns it, not you.
 
Try tools - options - preferences - task options. Maybe one of the first two
checkboxes will help - if you don't already have them checked. Our users can
still track the task even if they aren't the current owner.
