assigning drive letters to CD/DVD-ROM drives

In Win 98 it was possible to assign drive letters of
choice to removable drives like CD-ROMs (through Control
Panel ->System ->Hardware ->CD-ROM -> Properties).

How is it possible to so this in Win XP Pro?

After upgrading, the system maintained the letters I
assigned years ago (R for the CD-ROM and W for the CD
rewriter), but after I replaced the CD-rewriter with a
DVD-rewriter its letter changed to the lowest available
(J in my system), and I don't see the possibility to
change it.

Thanks for help

In Win XP Home you would go to:

Control Panel
Administrative Tools
Computer Management

Under the storage section
Disk Management

Then click on the drive which you want to change.

I don't believe the Pro version is any different.
