assign value to text

need to count # of times x appears in column and have a value of 1..
then need to be able to have sum of "x's" in cell range C4:c156
 
=SUMPRODUCT(--(A2:A200="x"),--(B2:B200=1))

=COUNTIF(C4:C156,"x")
