I have a full backup and ASR floppy. I have the backup on drive D. When I boot up the PC, it does show drive D and it also shows in CMOS.

However, when I try to install Windows XP with the ASR function, it doesn't recognize my D drive. This drive is not corrupt because I have installed it in a different computer and it showed the .bkf file without any problems.

Is there any way I can make the XP ASR Setup recognize the D drive? Thank you.

Was the drive D: when the backup was created? Is D: still the same physical
drive and location? Is the drive a regular PATA/IDE drive or something
else?

The floppy disk contains the disk layout info that was effective when that
recovery set was created. There is an MS Knowledge base article that
explains how to recreate a missing disk. Your floppy disk is not missing
but it might be damaged. Creating a replacement may get you past the
