ASP.NET Vs Cold Fusion

I'm a Microsoft Access and ASP.NET developer.
Currently I'm working at a company that uses Cold Fusion and we can't find
any
developers. I suggested that we use ASP.NET and Visual Studios.
The Cold Fusion developers tell me that it takes longer to develope
applications using ASP.NET. We are losing money because we can't get the
applications created in Cold Fusion.

I started web development using Cold Fusion and dumped it after 6 months
when I realized its crippleware. CFML is not really comparable to ASP.NET
and the .NET Framework after the discussion moves past declaring the CFML
tags in the HTML.

Furthermore, the cost of licensing Cold Fusion makes up and in fact likely
exceeds any costs of time difference developing ASP.NET applications when
deploying one's own server. Finally, when I was using CFML, developing what
we call controls and assemblies required C++ which put me and any other CFML
tag monkey out of business right then and there.

So if it takes longer to develop ASP.NET as they claim they are making a
business case right? Have them prove it. If you're in a business that can't
or won't establish its assertions you aren't working for a business. I say
they won't be able to put up and prove that CFML can be cost efficient over
the entire development life cycle. Ain't going to happen and your appearance
here already suggests you are the outcast.

So o make them really happy you should get a different job with a company
that wants and respects your insight and the skills you developed! But a
word of advice... learn SQL Server starting with SQL Express.
