I needed to install .NET for a program I bought. When I
did so, it created a user account called "ASP.NET Machine
A...". Even though I am the only person using this
machine, I now have to go through the Welcome screen and
click my user name (the only one that is displayed) every
time I boot up. This is especially annoying since I plan
to use this as a multimedia PC, which will be controlled
just by a remote, and the drivers for the remote aren't
loaded until I log in.
So far I have:
1) Executed "Control Userpasswords2" and unchecked 'Users
must enter a user name and password...'. Didn't do anything.
2) Deleted the ASP.NET account. This produced an error
message at startup as if it were still trying to log in as
'ASP.NET', but the account was no longer there. I've since
recovered the account by executing
"%systemroot%\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v1.1.4322\aspnet_regiis.exe
/i"
3) Pulled out all of my hair.
What gives?
