hello all,

I just downloaded ASP.net machine from Windows update because I was
installing a program that said it was required.

Before the installation when I booted my computer I just had to push
to start button and Windows would load up without me touching
anything. Now when I start my computer it goes to a blue welcome
screen and I have to click on my user button which is the only choice.

Is there a way that I can have it boot up like it used to? It also
put a new user account called ASP.net machine.

What the is the ASP.net machine for anyway?

Hi,
Try this.
Start> Run> and type in, Control userpasswords2
click OK.
Uncheck the box 'Users must enter a user name and password etc...'
Click Ok

NetNut,

Thank you for your help, it took me a couple of attempts to get it to
work but when I finally figured out how it worked, it is working fine
now.

Again, thank you
Albert

You're welcome.

That account is created when you install the '.NET Framework' update.

Use TweakUI - one of the XP Powertoys from (if you have installed XP
SP1)
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/pro/downloads/powertoys.asp

If you have not installed SP1, the earlier version can be found at
http://download.microsoft.com/download/whistler/Install/2/WXP/EN-US/TweakUiPowertoySetup.exe

Once installed you will find it in Start - All Programs - Powertoys for
Windows XP

On its Logon page, uncheck 'Show ASPNET on Welcome screen'
and click Apply
