Asking 4 User Name/Password continously when I "send/receive"

When I send/receive for email, my Outlook 2000 keeps asking for my user name/ password, minimally 10 times for each batch. Driving me nuts!! I did put in options to "memorize" it, so there isn't any reason. I also check off the "remember" with each request. Despite it all, it still requests it. Do I need a patch or something? THANKS ...

Post all replies to the group to keep the discussion intact. Due to
the SWEN virus, all mail sent to my personal account will be deleted
without reading.
