are USB speakers usable w XP MCE?

USB speakers hooked to an HP Z540 MCE PC work ok w audio editor playing
back directly to USB speaker, but will not work with any media players
eg WMP DVR etc

have played w control panel audio options disabling/enabling etc but
cannot get WMP to use the USB speaker as output, though I know the USB
speakers are installed correctly and work from at least one app eg
audio editor.

WUWT? any fix?

Yes, purchase some proper powered speakers that plug directly into the sound
source. USB speakers were never going to catch on; they use processing time
(as the sound has to travel from the sound card along the USB bus) sound
tinny and are a complete waste of a USB port.

You can purchase some nice 5.1 surround speakers for not very much these
days.

It has nothing whatsoever to do with the OS, and everything to do with the
fact they're crap.
 
Are you OK? This is the second post I have read of yours that actually

When the Tick gets spanked she gets nice for a day or two, then, she
