Are two Quad core CPUs + 8GB RAM + 15K SCSI drives enough to run VS 2005?

Seriously, could VS 2005 be any slower?

I've got 4GB RAM, dual core AMD CPU FX60, two 10K rpm SATA drives, and
7800GTX video card and VS 2005 is still horribly SLOW!! It is the most
frustrating interface I've ever had to wait for (even with dynamic help
turned off).

Premiere 2.0 Pro, Ulead, Photoshop all fly along on my system, but VS 2005
brings it to a crawl!!

Example:

Windows form app, single form with tab control (7 tabs) and about 15 group
boxes 20 combo boxes, 40 text boxes, 4 tree views, 5 list boxes, 10 buttons,
status bar, two progress bars, 2 tooltips, 1 timer, 1 openfiledialog, 60
labels -- just clicking on a control can take several seconds the first time
(fortunately subsequent selections aren't as bad provided same control
class).

Currently running XP Pro, but prior to this I had Vista loaded and it rated
my system at a 5 (out of 5) so I'm pretty certain my system isn't at fault.

Another Example:

Web app, F5 and wait wait wait wait (15-30 seconds or more and that is
knowing that I have to move the mouse to work around the bug with web apps
not displaying if the mouse is not moved -- known issue with MS)

Will the "soon to be released" SP for VS 2005 address this problem? (how a
company with so many resources can consistantly miss their targets is beyond
me -- where is all the money going?)

Any alternative IDE to VS 2005 that is relatively bug free and MUCH faster?

There is another resolution, you could always switch to Delphi 2005, no-one
EVER complains about VS after using Delphi 2005.
I only develop in C# these days, and VS2005 is just fine after its first
start-up, even on this PoS they gave me at work (P4 3.0, 1GB, 2x40GB
mirrorred disks) runs any sort of .Net 2.0 project as quickly as VS2003 did.
Perhaps there is something in the way you set up the app that causes the
slowness - there are 15 people using it here and, despite our geriatric VSS
server, no-one has a problem.

Stuart, I probably just have a very low tolerance (usually the case).

Not trying to compare it, just want it to be faster -- hit F1 on a
highlighted item takes a good 25 seconds for the help system to load (with
or without "internet" checking).

I'll check into the hot fix -- I have one already and will see if this is
the same. Anyone have a article on how to improve the IDE performance.
BTW, this is just the IDE in VS 2005, not execution speed of my code/apps.
