Are these files safe to delete?

Is it safe to delete the files in "C:\Documents and Settings\My Name
Here\Local Settings\Temp" folder? That folder fills up fast with what seems
to be dozens of megabytes of "leftover" files and folders from old
installations and programs no longer on my system.

Yes you can delete files in the temp folder, also cookies, and temp internet
files.
Probably best done when you are going to close down your computer.
Some programs tend to use the temp folder during their operation.

Tatiania,

Well, I can't tell you exactly how safe it is but I can tell you I do it all
the time, but only after I save my registry & scan through the files for
anything relevant. I've never had a problem doing it.

Hi,

Yes, it's safe to delete them after a fresh reboot (and that only in case
there is something in progress that needs to complete and has files housed
there for use on restart). Windows will not allow you to delete any file
that is in use by the system, and you may find a few that cannot be removed
as a result. The rest can safely go in the trash.

To chime in...

Run Start | programs | accessories | system tools | disk cleanup.
