Are there current issues with Excel attachments?

A co-worker sent me an e-mail with an Excel attachment. I can open it , but
others cannot. What would cause this?

Do they have Excel installed?
What e-mail package are they using?
Are they trying to open the attachment within the package, or have they
saved the attachment and tried to open the saved file separately? If the
latter, is it just double-clicking on the file that doesn't work? Or have
they also tried opening Excel and using File/ Open to open the file?
What error message, or other symptoms, are they seeing? Does Excel open
without opening the file?

If you allow them to sit at your computer and access your email I'll bet they
can open the attachment same way you did.

You may have left out some details in your post.

Did others get the email sent to them also?

Do they have Excel installed on their computers?

Do they get an error message?

Please post back with a better description of your problem.
