archiving problems

hello - am having trouble archiving manually or autoarchiving. Outlook 2003
on XP sp2. Tries to do it, looks like it is doing it but nothing happens,
nothing in the target file. I thought it might have been a roaming profile
problem but have tried it with two users, and got same result. Does this to
either a network archive file or local one. Also tried reinstalling Office
in case something was amiss but no success.
Any ideas what might be up?

Outlook does not use the Received date for archiving, uit uses the Modified
date, which usually isn't shown in the message header line. Use Field
Chooser to add it to the header line near the Received date and you'll be
able to compare the two. You'll see that, often, the Modofied date is more
recent than the Received date and this usually explains why AutoArchive
appears to not work.
