Hi,

I'm having problems archiving to a network drive. I'm trying to archive to
the same folder as my outlook.pst file, but I get the following errors:

Error while archiving folder "Deleted Items" in store "Personal Folders".
The file X:\username\archive.pst is not a personal folders file.

Error while archiving folder "Sent Items" in store "Personal Folders". The
file X:\username\archive.pst is not a personal folders file.

Error while archiving folder "Calendar" in store "Personal Folders". The
file X:\username\archive.pst is not a personal folders file.

Error while archiving folder "Journal" in store "Personal Folders". The file
X:\username\archive.pst is not a personal folders file.

Error while archiving folder "Tasks" in store "Personal Folders". The file
X:\username\archive2.pst is not a personal folders file.

Error while archiving folder "Deleted Items" in store "Archive Folders". The
file X:\username\archive.pst is not a personal folders file.

Error while archiving folder "Deleted Items" in store "Hotmail". The file
X:\username\archive.pst is not a personal folders file.

Error while archiving folder "Sent Items" in store "Hotmail". The file
X:\username\archive.pst is not a personal folders file.

I've tried deleting archive.pst and letting outlook recreate a new one but I
still get the same error. The archive.pst file stays at 0Kb.

Thanks!!!

Storing pst-files on network shares is not recommended by Microsoft so you
might want to try this with a new local pst-file first and see if you still
get the errors.

Also check if your current pst-file doesn't hold any corruption by running
scanpst.exe against the file.

Check and see if archiving from a different pst-file gives you the same
error.

In some cases just by emptying the Deleted Items folder solved everything.

I hope this helps!

Hi Roady,

I was able to archive to a local pst file(this always worked), but I want to
archive to a network share so that users can get all their email on any
computer.

Ran scanpst.exe and the file was good.

Emptied the Deleted Items folder.

Tried another pst file.

I got the same errors in every case. I gave the user full permissions to
the network drive. No luck.

Anything else I can try?

Thanks!!!
