Apps intermittently open twice

Occasionally (<5%) Outlook opens two instances when I
double click to open. Some other apps (SalesLogix, a CRM
DB) behaves similarly. The problem only appeared to start
once I loaded XP. And I have a co-worker who experiences
same problem. I tried playing with mouse settings to
correct but no go. Any ideas?

You don't say what mouse you're using. You might try going to the
mftr.'s website and downloading drivers for XP.
