Applying a custom view to all subfolders

J

Jasonf

In using Outlook 2003, I have a folder archive (.pst
file) where I store a lot of messages via rules. One of
those folders is a "sent items" folder. The defualt view
shows the "from" field which isn't necessary. I have been
working this way for a long time but only recently
upgraded to the new outlook. I have many sub folders in
the "sent items". I can change the view to show "to" as
opposed to "from", but how can I apply this view
automatically to all the sub folders? There must be
another way other than manually doing it. I have hundreds
of sub folders.

Thanks
Jason

Creat a "Sent Items" view in View-> Arrange By-> Curent View-> Define Views.
Now when you browse to that folder to the first time you can easily change
the folder view.

I'm having the exact same problem and I've posted this
same question several times. Unfortunatly as ridiculous
as it sounds...I'm beginning to believe you really do have
to change the view on each folder.

The shortcut Roady described below (defining a prefered
view) seems to be the easiest method for manually changing
each folder. Once you have defined a folder you like,
when you go to another folder you can go into View ->
Arrange By-> Current View and your defined view will show
up on the drop down list to choose from.

What a pain...

To make a change even faster;
Switch to Mail Navigation and choose View-> Arrange By-> Show Views in
Navigation Pane

No you can change the view with a single click.
