Is there an AUTOMATED way to apply a new template to an existing
presentation? Also, can the updated presentation include ALL the slide
transitions that had been defined in the original version?

Our company now has a new master presentation template that has just been
created. I am going to be responsible for moving the old presentations into
the new template. I am trying to determine what is the most time efficient
way to do this. We are running Powerpoint 97.

Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated. This is going to be a huge task
if it's reinventing each presentation!

As a test, open one of your existing presentations and apply the new template
manually.

Does that do what you expect it to?

If so, it'd be fairly simple to automate the process.

Open the presentation
From the main menu bar, choose Format, Apply Design
If your new template (POT file) isn't stored in the default folder PPT opens in the
dialog box that appears next, browse to the correct folder, choose the file and
click Apply.
