applied security and cannot access database

HELP, I AM LOCKED OUT!!

I tried to apply security to the database using the wizard and I am locked
out!! I wanted one group to be read only and me to stay as admin. Now
no-one can open it. It just says that I do not have permission to open
database.

I can open up the BAK file but cannot save it.

What can I do? Please help

The wizard likely created a desktop shortcut to launch the secured mdb. Are
you using that? If so, are you logging in with a valid username and
password (the password may be blank, unless you set it during the wizard -
it is case sensitive).

If you want to undo security altogether, you can rename the bak file to have
a mdb extension. That is the unsecured version of your database. If you go
this route, go into the workgroup administrator (tools, security menu) and
ensure that you are joined to the standard system.mdw workgroup file.

Luckily I did find the shortcut which allowed me to open it. What started
off as a bad day ended fine.
