Applications crash when I attempt to print

I posted this to the general group but after looking through the groups
again I thought this location might be more appropriate.

I'm running XP professional 2002 sp1 on an IBM T30 laptop w/512 ram
and a 1.6ghz P4. Have had several years touble free operation. Now when I go
to print to any of the printers on my network the application that I'm in
crashes. All printers worked fine until yesterday. No one else on the network
is experiencing the same problems. I've checked for a virus but have not
detected anything. I've tried deleting a printer and reconnecting with no
success. I've tried using system restore to each of the dates provided and
when each has finished it reports that no changes have been made. At least
one application (AutoCAD)comes up with error messages -- first, Fatal Error:
Unhandled acess violation Exception at 60626233h -- then in the next message:
the instruction "0x77e7a67a" referanced memory at "0x032202f0", the memory
could not be written. All other function in the various applications seem OK
as long as I don't try to print.--- does anyone have any thoughts on what the
problem is and what I can do to correct it? I'm desperate.

Many thanks,
Paul
