I just reintalled Office 2003 Student and teacher edition. Outlook will not
open and keeps giveing me an error message "application has failed to start
because WINHTTP.DLL was not fouind. Reinstalling the application may fix this
problem." I reinstalled the entire program from the CD and rebooted the
computer but got the same message. Any suggestions? Word does work.
Thanks....wes

Brian,

Thanks for the info....I had done a computer restore before reinstalling
Office 2003. I ran the updates on sp2 prior to reinstalling Office 2003. I
went to my computer web site and ran some updates from them. In doing this
it resolved my problem.

Thanks for you help...wes

Wes, Brian - I recently lost everything after system crash, and in
re-installing Office 2003 for Students/Teachers, am running into the exact
same error (missing winhttp.dll). Wes, which updates did you run from your
computer website? Mine (Sony) does not have any that appear to even remotely
apply to this problem. I have re-installed Office, but that does not help,
and the specs mentioned in the link from Brian do not seem to apply to my OS
or error message. Please Help! Theresa
