Application Not Found

I created a folder in my 'downloads' to store some music files. When I try
and open the folder, I get an error saying that 'application not found'. I
can explore the folder with no problem and move or edit anything I want. I
can not simply double click on said folder and open it. Any suggestions?

Hi,

Right click the folder, what option is in BOLD text? Is this repeatable on
other folders?

Hi Rick,
Thanks for responding. When I right click the bold text is 'Scan With Look
'T' Stop' whatever that is. It does not repeat in bold text on any other
folders.

Hi,

I suspect there is an .ini file in there that is causing this problem then,
since it is isolated to just this one folder. Click start and type 'control
folders' and hit enter. On the view tab, enable the option to see system and
hidden files and uncheck the option to hide protected operating system
files. Click apply/ok, then open Windows Explorer to this folder and look
for a desktop.ini file. If it's in there, delete it. Or, you can open it in
notepad and copy/paste the text into a response.

Sorry Rick,
Didn't work. I did as you suggested, found a file named 'desktop', deleted
it but still cannot get into the folder (changed everything back to default
settings in folder options, closed everything and tried to reopen). Any other
suggestions? What is 'T' Stop?

Curious, Ramesh, how that adds all those shell entries to HKLM, but only
this one folder seems to be affected. Any thoughts as to why that is?

Think the uninstaller would work? Or just smoke and mirrors?

Good question, Rick. May be it affects only the folders which contains "Music" or "Video" files (folder template defined so), or its shell extension is buggy (just another case of shell extension problem.) ShellExView is worth a shot (Method 2 here http://windowsxp.mvps.org/slowrightclick.htm)

Thanks for your input guys. I'm going on holidays and won't be able to try your suggestion. Well, if I have time tonight after packing, maybe. Anyway thanks and I'll get back to you.

Back from holidays gentlemen.
Looked through Ramesh's articles. Downloaded the Shellexview program but
nothing jumped out on the list that said to me that this is what the problem
is. I did a search of my computer for Tvksetup.exe and found it at the
following location: C:\Users\Tim Mahoney\Local Settings\Temp\DRDld (I used
the Snip Tool to grab the image but don't know how to send it along).
Apparently, it was created well before I bought the new computer and
according to the properties, it is related to my Creative Zen program somehow
(which I installed when I got the new computer a month ago). I explored the
install CD but didn't see anything related..
Is it safe to just delete this folder? I don't know if there is an uninstall
with this thing. It is starting to affect more music related folders on my
system.
Thanks again for taking the time to help us computer illiterate types.
