Application - Layered Hidden Window

Having just received a Breaking News email from CNN about a new worm which
has been shutting computers across the US running Windows 2000 and which can
affect some versions of XP I connected to Microsoft.com to see if there were
any patches. The CNN article claimed Windows have issues a patch. Whilst I
was searching Windows Auto-Update kicked in and downloaded several security
updates which I subsequently installed. I was instructed to restart windows
so clicked OK but got a screen window saying an application was still running
called Layered Hidden Window I clicked close and got another identical window
- clicked close again and then the shutdown commenced.

Anyone any idea what Applic - Layered Hidden Window is??

I am running Windows XP Home

Thanks for that!

If my scanning of the info on the link you provided has homed in correctly
it looks as if the system can create layered windows automatically, although
I don't claim to understand all the info provided and I did not see reference
to "hidden" layered windows.

As my PC has been playing up recently, despite a bang up todate security
system, and frequent scans by several different spyware programs imcluding
Windows own, I feared that perhaps the reference to hidden windows was
indicative of something intrusive running on my PC in the background!!
