I've downloaded the application compatibility toolkit.
It has everything I need except I need to fake out Windows 2000 Service Pack 4.

Does anyone know how to get a compatibility fix for win2000sp4versionlie?

Not only does you post make next to no sense at all but if it's
concerning Windows 2000 then why are you asking in a Windows XP group?

Let me explain further.

I am trying to install a legacy application on Windows XP that
checks during install for Windows 2000 SP4. So it won't install.

I downloaded the Application Compatibility Toolkit from
http://msdn.microsoft.com/compatibility.

This toolkit has Compatibility fixes to allow you to launch
programs under Windows XP to support legacy application. You can
configure applications so XP will lie about the version.
There are compatibility fixes available for Windows 95, Windows NT,
and Windows 2000. The fixes available for Windows 2000 are named
win2000versionlie and win2000sp1versionlie.

I am wondering if this toolkit can be updated to have a compatibility
fix to fake out Windows 2000 Service Pack 4 under Windows XP.

Any ideas?
