applet (?)/ graphics (?) problem

I cannot figure out why on certain web pages there is a white box with a red
x in it where there should be picture or logo. I got my java up-to-date but
that didn't help. can anyone tell me how to fix this?
 
The graphics is located on a "3rd party server" and is not reachable,
either because the server is down or your system is configured to block
content from 3rd party servers.
