I have an IBM Deskstar DTLA 307030 HDD (30 gig) can I format it for use in a PC?
I have put into an old PII and the bios recognizes the hdd but it does not show up in my computer, also shows in Device manager. I want to use this drive as a mirror drive.

I don't see why not. A hard drive has to have at least one partition
created and be formatted. Try doing that with fdisk using a Win98 boot
floppy. Then see if it is seen in My Computer in your XP machine.
