Append query problem

Hi - I am using an append query to gather data created in one table and
append it to another table with the same structure ie all fields are a match
inc format

Problem is I just want to make all the data coming from the source table
have a value in the date field = to a value on a form, and ignoring the
actual date values existing in the source table

The date field source I have set in the append query is;

audit_date: [Forms]![frm_ShowSales]![txt_ToDate] this is then supposed to
append to audit_date but when I look at the output of the query it has a
blank in that field

What am I doing wrong?
