append query cahnge autonumber

For a fishing comp, I ve got two days to try and get something working and
I'm lost. tring to set autonumber to start at a value of 1000... hav eyou
tried access 2003 help if your a new. Any way need competeitor registration
name, address, etc... and then two days of the comp with 6 elligible species
on each day. need to enter weights for fish on each day and for each
competitor... then be able to search compitiotrs and their fish to find
heaviest in each category.

Am lost and have tons of other things to do before the comp starts and am
looking for some help. how do i set it up would be a great start...if you
could help please post

1 - An auto number field should only be used as a linking field. It should
not contain any secondary meaning, so setting it to any predetermined value
is unnecessary.

That said, even thought the article at
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;209696 is for Access
2000, the information also workings in Access 2002 and 2003.

2 - If you are looking for a something to start with for you app, try
searching the template gallery at
http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/templates/default.aspx.

If you don't find anything there, try searching the internet with Google.
